Kindly note: We don’t recommend you import the demo content, because this work maybe not necessary for a simple blog theme, you maybe have to spend a lot of time to remove the unexpected items after imported. If you just want to customize the posts/pages layout, you can take a look to this article.
How to import the Demo Content
Important to note: To ensure all content is imported correctly, please be sure to have installed all of the required plugins that are noted at the top of your Dashboard when you first installed & activated the theme.
A theme’s demo content XML file can be found in the theme package you downloaded from ThemeForest. It will be in a folder titled “Demo Content“.
- On your dashboard in the left-hand menu, select Tools –> Import.
- Select the “WordPress“–> Run Importer. If you haven’t used the WP Importer before, you may need to first install it and activate it.
- Click the “Browse” button and find the theme’s demo content XML file.
- You will be given the option of choosing which “author” name will be assigned to the imported content. Otherwise, click “Submit”.
Please be patient while WordPress imports all the content. Posts, Pages, and Menus are imported. You will need assign the menu a theme location & you’ll need to configure widgets. This is a limitation of WordPress’ import system. Please note that while the XML file can import the demo site’s content, it cannot import the Customizer, Widgets settings. You will then need to select your homepage layout, preferred colors, enable/disable sidebar, etc. within the theme’s Customizer section.
